How do you buy electrical appliances?

Most probably chances are ,those heard from advertisements,from what your neighbour bought, which is the latest, OK thats enough..


















Lets think in environmental friendly manner , if that is hard to pick then think to save money...
Choosing to buy appliances that are low on power consumption, such as those labeled Energy Star, can save you money.Switching to CFL light bulbs is a good start, but big energy savings can come with larger power-consuming appliances.

When you're shopping for appliances, think of two price tags. The first one covers the purchase price—think of it as a down payment. The second price tag is the cost of operating the appliance during its lifetime. You'll be paying on that second price tag every month with your utility bill for the next 10 to 20 years, depending on the appliance. Refrigerators last an average of 14 years; clothes washers about 11 years; dishwashers about 10 years; and room air conditioners last 9 years.


















If you need to replace an old or broken-down appliance, going more efficient, even if it’s a bit more expensive, will end up saving you money. You’ll probably make up the difference in a few months to a year, and the rest will be savings. Some products, purchased in certain areas, can get you a rebate to further make up the price difference.

The government is working on various models to provide a tax advantage to consumers on energy-efficient electrical appliances.The government may introduce a differential tax structure under which appliances certified as more energy efficient would attract lower tax. This means if you buy a five-star rated refrigerator, you are likely to pay lesstax than if you buy a four or a three-star one.

When you use electricity to cook a pot of rice for 1 hour, you use 1000 watt-hours of electricity! One thousand watt-hours equals 1 kilowatt-hour, or 1 kWh. Your electricity bill usually shows what you are charged for the kilowatt-hours you use
